Parchman, Vaughan, & Company, LLC, a leading middle market investment bank focused on the education and training industries, continues its long-standing partnership with the Morehead-Cain Foundation by welcoming Ege Partal to the team. Ege is a rising junior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, pursuing a double major in Economics and Political Science with a minor in Middle Eastern Studies. Ege was in Washington D.C. this spring semester with UNC Honors Carolina Burch Field Research Program in Domestic and Foreign Affairs, interning for the SETA Foundation. He worked there as a policy intern focusing on the U.S. foreign policy, and the U.S.-Turkish relations. He spent last summer in South Africa, volunteering for a non-profit called Hoops for Hope, an organization focused on youth empowerment through sports.

Parchman Vaughan, has advised over 100 clients on transactions in the education industry. Parchman Vaughan partner and Morehead-Cain alumnus Todd Parchman explained, “Ege will bring a distinct international perspective to our team. He has an avid passion for the education industry and we will benefit from his personal experiences as an international student studying in the U.S.”

Founded in 1945, the Morehead-Cain Foundation is the United States' oldest and most prestigious merit scholarship program which features a distinctive program of summer enrichment experiences designed to support students as they learn and grow. During the course of four summers, scholars have opportunities to complete an outdoor leadership course, commit themselves to public service in the U.S. or abroad, conduct research at sites around the world, and gain experience in private enterprise.

The Morehead-Cain Discovery Fund complements the Summer Enrichment Program. Scholars receive financial support and are encouraged, and to more deeply explore their interests, whether they involve studying under celebrated artists, attending leadership retreats, or obtaining wilderness first responder certification. From researching renewable energy technologies in Europe to tracing the path of native bumblebees in the Patagonia region of Chile, Morehead-Cain Scholars are given the resources to pursue educational opportunities wherever they may find them.

The selection criteria for Morehead-Cain Scholars are leadership, academic achievement, moral force of character and physical vigor. Recipients are chosen solely on the basis of merit and accomplishment. Some of the 3,000 alumni include:
