International third-party hotel management company is first of its kind to operate in the region
Valor Hospitality Partners, the hotel management company that owns and operates 75+ hotels in the U.S., Africa, Asia and Europe, has launched Valor Middle East in Dubai. The new division is the first of its kind in the region.
Valor Middle East will provide hotel owners and brands with a wide range of full-service third-party management offerings, including food and beverage, capital raise, sales and marketing and hotel development services.
Dubai-based Julien Bergue, a 20-year veteran of the hospitality industry, was selected to lead Valor Middle East as managing director. Bergue has more than 14 years of international expertise directing significant mixed-used development, new hotel development and luxury refurbishment projects across the Middle East and Europe.
Valor’s rapidly expanding global footprint includes a recent extension into the Sub-Saharan region of Africa, where they signed an exclusive agreement with InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG®), one of the world’s leading hotel brands. Through this partnership, the companies will roll out multiple franchise hotels over the next 10 years. Bergue will also be supported by Michael Pownall and Graham Wood, co-founders and managing partners for Valor Africa.
“As the Middle East hospitality landscape continues to grow and evolve, this new division offers regional hotel owners the services they need to see a faster return on investment, help hotel brands maximize their ROI, create a better customer experience, increase revenue, boost hotel occupancy and so much more,” said Bergue. “Our team’s international expertise and accumulated years of experience in third-party hotel management is poised to aid hoteliers, developers and asset holding companies across the Middle East.”
Euan McGlashan, global co-founder and chief executive officer of Valor Hospitality Partners, said Valor had identified a gap in the market.
“With such a strong base and team of professionals in Southern Africa eager to share their knowledge outside the region as well as history with some project work we had undertaken in Saudi; we saw a wonderful opportunity to further expand our global footprint within the franchise world. Franchise is not prevalent in the ME region and given our strong relationships with the major international brands as well as a superb local Managing Director in Julien Bergue leading the charge, we felt the timing was right to share our expertise in many of the incredible cities within the ME region beginning with Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Africa and Middle East will now fall under Managing Partners Graham Wood, Michael Pownall, Tony Romer-Lee and myself in a business development support role,” McGlashan said.
