
Grady Matthews
Cushman & Wakefield has named Grady Matthews Managing Principal for its Raleigh-Durham office. Matthews, a former executive and partner in two of North Carolina’s top real estate companies since 2000, will now oversee strategic growth and business development efforts for the firm’s business in the Raleigh-Durham market. Rich Harris, who did a masterful job leading the Raleigh-Durham office the past five years, will remain with Cushman & Wakefield and focus solely on his tenant representation practice.

Matthews will have direct oversight of more than80 employees in the Triangle, Triad and Tidewater area, and all aspects of the firm’s business including agency leasing, tenant representation, capital markets, property management, project and development services and global occupier services.

Matthews has more than 20 years of commercial real estate experience and has produced profits for commercial partners in asset management and real estate development, with an emphasis on land sales, development and investment transactions as well as extensive entitlement work.

Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, Matthews was Vice President of Choate Construction, where he was also an officer within the company. Previously, he held the Vice President position at First Citizens Bank, where he was the No. 1 producer in the Government Guaranteed Lending division, and VantageSouth Bank, where he was the No. 1 producer in the Government Guaranteed Lending Group in 2013.
Additionally, Matthews was Principal of Granite Development, providing oversight over the company’s dealings in Eastern North Carolina, including new development, leasing, management, entitlements and operations. He was also Vice President and Partner with Crosland, opening the company’s first satellite where he was responsible for markets east of Greensboro to the North Carolina coast. Matthews started his career with Anthony and Company as a broker before joining Konover Property Trust as Senior Leasing Executive. Matthews holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from North Carolina State University.
