The BlackStone Group and Beam Living have been working with EmpireCore, LLC to completely renovate their Peter Cooper Village Stuyvesant Town property. EmpireCore, a construction company that specializes in unit rehab and gut renovation, renovates approximately 275 of the 11,000 apartments a year with an annual budget exceeding $30 million. These units, which were constructed in 1949, each require a full gut renovation. In addition to apartment work, EmpireCore has also created leasing and management offices, installed rooftop decks and upgraded surrounding store fronts and more. Most recently, EmpireCore completed work on the 14th Street Gym and Fitness Center including a full interior fit-up and new ADA access from the interior of the property and storefront.
Manhattan’s Biggest Apartment Complex Gets an Upgrade
Peter Cooper Village Stuytown, the largest apartment complex in Manhattan, remains fully occupied as EmpireCore continues work on the project. Due to this, EmpireCore must work meticulously to ensure occupants are not disturbed by their day-to-day operations. EmpireCore is focused on making these renovations environmentally sustainable as possible. Some of these efforts include utilizing non-VOC and water-based paints, the installation of green roofs on new projects and building with non-formaldehyde materials.
