Carolina Complete Health Network has raised $1.1 million in equity, according to a Wednesday filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The money came from 11 separate investors.
The Raleigh-based company is planning on raising another $400,000 to meet its goal of $1.5 million.
Carolina Complete Health Network was formed by the North Carolina Medical Society to establish, build and maintain a physician-led network of providers to serve Medicaid beneficiaries in North Carolina.
The company is led by Dr. Jeffrey Runge, who serves as president, CEO and as a member of the board of directors.
Runge has over 30 years as a board-certified emergency medicine physician, practicing in Charlotte until 2001.
He later served as the chief executive of two federal government agencies and as a consultant in public policy and business strategy for biodefense, medical preparedness and road safety companies.
The company was formed in 2016.
Companies relying on a Reg D exemption do not have to register their offering of securities with the SEC, but they must file what’s known as a Form D electronically with the SEC after they first sell their securities.
