Bill Maris Raises $150M For His Section 32

Former CEO of Google Ventures Bill Maris has raised $150 million for his new venture firm, Section 32, according an article in The New York Times.

Section 32 will invest in a variety of industries, from health care to agriculture technology.

The newspaper reported Maris first thought of starting a larger fund with a target of about $230 million, but changed his mind. At present, he is the firm’s sole general partner.

Maris left GV in August and previously worked at the Swedish investment firm Investor AB.
