Jennifer Montgomery
Kimpton Lorien Hotel & Spa in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia is pleased to announce the appointment of Jennifer Montgomery as director of sales and marketing for the 107-room boutique hotel. With nearly 30 years of hospitality experience, Montgomery will oversee the hotel’s dedicated sales and catering team, providing leadership and support for all sales and marketing activities. Kimpton Lorien Hotel & Spa is known for its beautiful design, convenient location and excellent guest experience and is consistently recognized for its stellar service, most recently being named one of the Best Hotels in Washington, D.C. by Travel + Leisure’s World’s Best Awards and as a Top Wedding Vendor by Virginia Living in 2016.
In her new role at Kimpton Lorien Hotel & Spa, Montgomery will supervise the hotel’s dedicated sales team across all market segments as well as its catering team, which flawlessly executes weddings, meetings and events of up to 125 guests throughout the hotel’s 5,600 square feet of function space in partnership with its award-wining French and European restaurant, BRABO. In addition to providing council to the sales teams, Montgomery’s day to day will consist of planning and implementing strategies for all group, transient and leisure business segments, revenue, digital marketing, advertising and public relations efforts for the Old Town Alexandria hotel.
A Kimpton veteran, Montgomery joins Kimpton Lorien Hotel & Spa’s executive team from Kimpton’s Carlyle Hotel Dupont Circle and Glover Park Hotel in Washington, D.C. where she was most recently the opening associate director of sales for both hotels. Montgomery managed the hotels’ combined sales team and proactively sold across market segments, cultivating new and longstanding relationships with clients as well as building awareness for the two newly opened downtown Washington hotels. Originally from New Orleans, Montgomery got her first taste of the hospitality industry while working for a riverboat casino as a player’s club manager, which allowed her to design, implement and manage casino promotions. She then joined the hotel world as a reservation and group sales manager with Marriott in New Orleans. Montgomery moved on to hone her skills with independent boutique hotels LePavillon Hotel and Bourbon Orleans Hotel, and eventually moved to the Washington area where she leaned into the complex market in manager roles with Marriott, Wyndham and Renaissance prior to joining Kimpton Hotel Monaco Baltimore Inner Harbor as associate director of sales in 2009. After assuming her first director of sales roles with the St. Gregory Hotel and Modus Hotels, Montgomery returned to Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants in 2015.
A graduate of University of Maryland University College with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, Montgomery considers the Washington metro area home. When she’s not out and about getting to know the Alexandria community, Montgomery enjoys running or reading a good book. She is excited to take the next step in her hospitality career and get to work with her team and clients at Kimpton Lorien Hotel & Spa.
