MetaProp NYC, the world’s premier real estate technology nexus and RETech accelerator, announced today its 2016 accelerator class. Selected from a record-shattering 300 applications from 35 countries that doubled last year’s total, the eight start-ups will each receive 22 weeks of rigorous real estate and technology training, mentorship and industry exposure in addition to $50,000-to $250,000 in funding.

“Our 2016 accelerator cohort is filled with talented and inspiring entrepreneurs who are transforming everything in real estate from building energy management, to interior design, to construction project scheduling and even real estate appraisals,” said Aaron Block, MetaProp NYC Co-Founder and Managing Director. “It’s exciting for us to work with the next generation of RETech entrepreneurs in attacking common problems across the residential, office, industrial, retail and leisure real estate value chain.”

The new class of start-ups hail from New York City, Seattle, Silicon Valley and Tampa Bay, with nearly all having recently graduated from prestigious generalist technology accelerators, including from YCombinator, the gold standard in the field. "The diverse 2016 class features two women CEOs, as well as a founder whose passion for improving the construction process was inspired by working on UN infrastructure projects across Africa,” said Block.

The 2016 MetaProp NYC Accelerator class includes:

• Flip is the first peer-to-peer property leasing marketplace, allowing current and prospective tenants to showcase their lease or takeover an existing lease.
• Ravti is an intelligent software and digital tagging system that automates the process of bidding, procuring, and overseeing HVAC operations.
• Enertiv revolutionizes the way energy is collected, visualized and analyzed in commercial, multifamily and industrial buildings.
• HoM partners with residential landlords to deliver group fitness classes in under-utilized space.
• onTarget is a visual project management and analytics tool for the construction industry, with powerful 3D rendering.
• BuildPulse helps building owners and operators unlock the data in their HVAC systems.
• WorkOf is the online home for contemporary design--with beautiful furniture, lighting and accessories from more than 100 design studios across the country.
• Bowery is the fastest commercial appraisal report software in the business.

The annual MetaProp NYC accelerator program features more than 100 mentors and support from international partners and sponsors including the Real Estate Board of New York, the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, the International Council of Shopping Centers, the New York City Economic Development Corporation, Zillow Group, Warburg Realty, Millennium Partners, Silicon Valley Bank, DLA Piper, EisnerAmper and the News Funnel.
