Four Townhouse-Style Residences Remain At the Original York & Sawyer Trust Building

The Stahl Organization (Stahl), developers of The Brooklyn Trust Company Building , a newly redeveloped historic landmark property, announced today that the building has reached nearly 70 percent sold with eight of the 12 residences sold and occupied. Originally designed by renowned architects, York & Sawyer, the building was re-imagined by Barry Rice Architects as a boutique condominium, which now offers only four remaining townhouse-style homes.

“We could not be more pleased about the sales success at Brooklyn Trust Company Building. This project reflects the building’s architectural significance and is the culmination of our commitment to meticulous execution,” said Roger Fortune, Vice President of Stahl. “The individual residences contain unique details that reveal the building’s history, while appealing to the 21st-century buyer looking for a luxurious townhouse-style home.”

Originally built in 1913, The Brooklyn Trust Company Building evokes the luxury and grandeur of New York’s finest residences. Luxury real estate staging firm, Interior Marketing Group (IMG), curated several spaces in the building with a selection of timeless furniture, lighting, and accent pieces that blend together the property’s historic style and modern design.

The six-story boutique condominium features 12 two- to five-bedroom sprawling homes – four of which are duplexes – ranging in size from approximately 2,200 square feet to 3,100 square feet. Pricing starts at approximately $3.25 million and goes up to approximately $4.17 million.

Each residence features chef kitchens with white, high-gloss painted wood and glass-front upper cabinets; Quartzite stone counter tops; sit-to breakfast counters; rolling island carts with Belgian blue granite tops; and Bosch, Wolf, and Sub-Zero appliances. Elegant master bathrooms feature Statuario marble walls; radiant-heat floors; white high-gloss custom vanities with Calacatta Gold marble tops and Kohler sinks; walk-in showers with glazed partitions; and polished nickel rainfall shower heads.

The property is comprised of a robust collection of sophisticated amenities, including the first sound-attenuated private music room in Brooklyn; an Owner’s Lounge with kitchenette; a teen room and children’s playroom; a state-of-the-art fitness center; an expansive rooftop outdoor terrace equipped with a gas barbecue grill; a pet-spa; a supplemental laundry room; bike and stroller storage; and a doorman and live-in super.

Located in Brooklyn Heights, the first landmark district in New York City, The Brooklyn Trust Company Building was the anchor of Brooklyn’s famed “Bank Row” for more than a century and remains a city and federal landmark building. The building was meticulously restored by Barry Rice Architects and underwent an extensive interior renovation to integrate modern and refined design elements, without sacrificing York & Sawyer’s original design for the Trust building.

Situated in the charming neighborhood of Brooklyn Heights with tree-lined streets and neighboring brownstone homes, residents are in walking distance from the Brooklyn Heights promenade, the Brooklyn Historical Society Museum, and the popular shopping and dining destination on Montague Street. Numerous transportation options are easily accessible including the R, 2, 3, 4, and 5 lines – providing easy access to Downtown and Midtown Manhattan.
