New wave includes top three agents and teams from Hammond Real Estate

Compass, a technology-driven real estate platform, announces that seven top-producing agents have joined the company’s Cambridge office. Carol Kelly & Myra von Turkovich, Charles Cherney, John Bigelow & Bruce Irving, Bonny Lamb, and Ross Duncan Brown were all ranked in the top 10% at their previous firm - Hammond Real Estate in Cambridge.

To accommodate the significant growth of its Cambridge operation, Compass will be opening a new state-of-the-art office at 1073 Massachusetts Avenue.

“We are thrilled to welcome such a great number of talented and knowledgeable real estate professionals to our Compass Cambridge team,” said Jeffrey Heighton, Massachusetts Regional Vice President. “I am confident that their businesses will continue to thrive alongside Compass’ solid brand, unmatched technology, and agent support.”

Carol Kelly and Myra VonTurkevitch were among Hammond’s longest standing and consistent top-producing teams and have been business partners for 30 years.

Charles Cherney established himself as a top real estate broker in Cambridge and Somerville, MA. He has been successfully assisting buyers and sellers in both communities since 1999.

John Bigelow and Bruce Irving have been business partners since since 2011 and have been consistently ranked in the top three teams at Hammond.

Bonny Lamb brings 20 years of industry experience to Compass with a background in art and design. She specializes in condominiums, multi-million dollar homes, and new development projects.

Ross Duncan Brown has been a leading local real estate professional for more than 20 years with extensive experience in both residential and commercial sales.

Compass launched in Boston in 2015 and then in Cambridge in early 2016 with star agents Christian Jones and John Petrowsky, also veterans of Hammond. Compass now represents approximately $575 million in annual sales in the Boston area. One of the biggest accomplishments for the firm is the recent launch of a first of its kind live market report via a mobile app for the Boston housing market.Called Compass Markets, the app is designed to eliminate the need for stale quarterly market reports by putting live housing data insights directly in the hands of agents and consumers, bringing more transparency to the real estate process in luxury markets across the nation.

In total, Compass has raised $135 million in investor funding, more than any other residential brokerage in the country, from key investors including Institutional Venture Partners, Thrive Capital, Founders Fund, 406 Ventures, Advance Publications, Inc., Kenneth Chenault, CEO of American Express and Marc Benioff, Founder and CEO of Salesforce.com.
